No. Hamsteropolis pieces are designed to live inside a proper, appropriately sized small-pet enclosure — they add enrichment, hiding spots, and climbing areas, but they never replace the enclosure itself. Always follow current welfare guidance for minimum enclosure sizes for your species.

How does the HabitatLink™ connector work?

Every major piece has a built-in vertical slot. A HabitatLink™ rail slides into the slot, and the next piece slides onto the exposed side of the same rail — creating a clean, hidden joint with no glue, screws, or permanent assembly. Pieces separate just as easily for cleaning or a new layout.

Castle Keep is our first theme world — a modular castle with walls, turrets, arched tunnels, and platforms that snap together into a fortress your pet can climb, cross, and hide inside. It is available now in the Shop under Theme Sets.

Pieces are manufactured from durable, pet-safe plastics chosen for small-animal use. We test fit tolerances carefully and design out small gaps, sharp corners, and rough overhangs that could catch a curious nose.

Is it safe if my pet chews on the pieces?

Small pets explore with their teeth, so we design with rounded edges and materials selected for pet products. That said, no plastic item is a chew toy — provide proper wooden chews, monitor how your pet interacts with any new piece, and remove a piece if your animal chews it persistently.

How do I clean the pieces?

The whole system is built to come apart. Slide pieces off their rails and wash them with warm water and a mild, pet-safe soap, then dry fully before rebuilding. No glue or permanent joints means every surface stays reachable.

Add new pieces during normal awake hours and let your pet investigate at their own pace. Keep layouts open enough to see into, so you can always monitor, and rearrange gradually rather than replacing an entire familiar layout at once.

No — builds are freestanding on the enclosure floor, connected piece-to-piece through the rail system. That keeps them easy to reposition, remove, and clean without modifying your enclosure.
